Creating a GWK File

  • Open GC-Prevue
    • If necessary File - New
  • Shift+I to import gerber files
  • Select the following files
    • Silkscreen Top
    • Stencil Top
    • Soldermask Top
    • Silkscreen Bottom
    • Stencil Bottom
    • Soldermask Bottom
    • Copper Top
    • Copper Bottom
    • Outline
    • Drill (if available)


  • Click Open - Ok - OK - Yes to any prompts - Ok to any more prompts
  • Change colors of each layer accordingly. Look at previous jobs as an example
    • Silkscreen - Blue
    • Stencil - Green
    • Soldermask - Pink
    • Copper - Light Blue
    • Outline - Red


  • Sort the colors by dragging and dropping them
    • Silkscreen Top
    • Stencil Top
    • Soldermask Top
    • Silkscreen Bottom
    • Stencil Bottom
    • Soldermask Bottom
    • Copper Top
    • Copper Bottom
    • Outline


  • Select "Physical Layers" and type "H" to hide them all from view. Then select Silkscreen Top, Stencil Top, and Outline and type "V" after selecting each to make them visible.
  • Save the file in W:\WAi_Gerber Files as the PCB name that's associated to them in MRP.
